Last night, I was honored by the East West Players with their Visionary Award. Met some nice people, watched an awesome dance group called Kaba Modern. I also got covered by a very funny blog called Disgrasian, here.Read more...
Overall, a great night…but possibly one of the coolest parts was meeting “Russell” from the Disney movie Up. His real name is Jordan.

I have found this on Chester-land:
Smart Imagination is fortunate enough to have the foreword written by Chester Bennington, front man for Linkin Park and Dead By Sunrise. Chester Bennington is also co-owner of Club Tattoo, one of the largest tattoo-associated brands in the world. Bennington comments on Tattoo Stories, “The book is associated with a great charity, Starlight Children’s Foundation, and, anything that I can do to give back is always something that I’m interested in.” Smart Imagination has gained generous support by collaborations with Club Tattoo and leading tattoo shops and artists from around the world who are featured in the publication.

A few new things in Linkin Park world:
We’ve officially moved our band’s Twitter presence over to: http://twitter.com/linkinpark. Make sure to follow there (and http://twitter.com/m_shinoda; yes, it’s true, I occasionally tweet).
We just surpassed 4 million fans on Facebook. Pretty awesome. If you haven’t become a fan of us on FB yet, now’s the time…http://www.facebook.com/linkinPark.
And lastly, there was a great Washington Post piece about our game. Here’s a bit of the story:
“DENVER (Billboard) – When avid technophile Mike Shinoda was approached backstage last year with an idea for developing a Linkin Park iPhone game, the band’s co-frontman knew he wanted it to be more than just another run-of-the-mill artist app.
“It was important to us to do something creative and fun,” he says. “We didn’t want to throw a bunch of songs at the game, slap our name on it and cash the checks.”
The result is “8-Bit Rebellion,” a soon-to-be-released iPhone game with an iPad version on the way. Whereas most artist-branded games tend to be rhythm-based, “8-Bit Rebellion” is an action game that has users fighting enemies alongside members of the band. The soundtrack features several Linkin Park hits in both standard and 8-bit fidelity, plus an exclusive track, “Blackbirds,” for fans who complete the game.
But according to Maryanna Donaldson, creative director of the game’s developer, Artificial Life, the real innovation was the degree to which Linkin Park was involved. Each band member helped design a different “district” in which the game takes place, personalized to his individual interests. Shinoda designed the members’ avatars and edited every line of dialogue. The process wound up taking the better part of a year, but Donaldson says the result sets a new bar for artist-branded apps.

"For it to be top quality and appealing to the fan, the artist should be very involved," she says.
Meanwhile, the band's label, Warner Bros. Records, is supporting the app's launch with a movie-style trailer that will run in the IGN gaming community as well as virally through Linkin Park's YouTube channel. There will also be a Web site where fans can create and post 8-bit avatars of themselves.
"We're treating this like the release of a Linkin Park album or song," Warner Bros. Records senior vice president of new media Jeremy Welt says.
So a surprise LPU chat went on a few hours ago, here’s an outline:
* He’s packing for a snowboard trip
* Last the albums he bought were: 1.) Wu Massacre 2.) Yeasayer Odd Blood 3.) The Beach Boys / Pet Sounds
* He’s not sure about a Projekt Revolution in Australia (someone asked about that)
* He said Ugg boots are still cool in LA, every girl has them and lots of people were saying that he should design Ugg boots with his designs, he was appalled by it, but Lauren (LPUer) said he should design them and call them Thuggs, Mike laughed and tweeted about it!
* He doesn’t watch Lost (at least I think they were talking about the show).
* He doesn’t answer to people on Twitter because it’s “clutter-y” he posts on the LPUMB, chat, blog, and LP.com
* Blackbirds might be available on iTunes later, he’s not sure about performing it for future live shows.

Long ago, the world existed in 8 bit harmony…until PixxelKorp arrived. Now, you are the rebellion’s only hope to fight the evil corporation’s mass-brainwashing campaign.
PIXIE is PixxelKorp’s mascot. He’s soft and cuddly, and the kiddies love him. After all, he’s selling a highly addictive product. And if you mess with him, he will eat your brains.
Yum, brains.
You guys know that the chat with Mark Fiore was yesterday. Before Mark joined the Chat, Mike came and told us to get an Ustream Account because he and Chester will be chatting there later. After the Mark Chat started, Mike cam back and told us, that the Video Chat will starting right now. Poor Mark. Chester said that the 8-Bit Rebellion Release is the 26th April.
